They both signed up for a Premier Package (Tom Cruise Style) which means Anthony and I both get to be at their wedding, which is gonna be a blast! We had a lot of fun with them today on the boardwalk... proving there are more things to do on Superbowl Sunday then just watch football. Sadly, I say this because I bleed Jets green, lol

Theresa and Kevin are the winners of our "2011 Dream Wedding Team Contest". We have met Theresa a few times before and just love her but this was the first time we got to meet Kevin. Kevin is deployed in Afghanistan and stopped in to see us on his break home. We really enjoyed seeing the love between these too. There such a great couple! We also enjoyed hearing Kevin's stories from over seas, we can't wait to have him home for good! So excited for their wedding in August!

On 10-22-11 Tracey and Josh were married at the Beautiful Ballyowen Golf Club. The sky was blue, weather was perfect, and Tracey looked absolutely stunning. Tracey and Josh were such a wonderful couple. You could tell by the look on Josh's face and the tears in his eyes during the ceremony how much he truly loves her. And how could he not... look at her! Beauty and Brains all in one package.

Yesterday, October 29th, 2011 NJ was unexpectedly hit with over 16 inches of snow. Snow for an October Wedding was a first for Anthony Ziccardi Studios. But that didn't stop us from getting really great photos. The bride wore UGG's under her dress and the bridal party were all a blast to work with in the cold snowy weather. Allowing Anthony to capture a bunch of winter wonderland moments.

Dream Wedding Winners Tie The Knot!

In 2010 we asked local couples to enter our Dream Wedding contest by submitting a letter telling us why they deserved to win a dream wedding. After over 100 letters we narrowed it down to 3 couples and then let Sussex County pick the winners, Ursula and Chris.

After over a year of planning it was finally the big day. We woke to a beautiful morning, the sun was shinning and we were really excited to be a part of this wedding. Ursula looked stunning in a Dress donated from Sew N Sew Bridal and Tuxedo and Chris cleaned up pretty well too in a tuxedo donated by the same. The beautiful purple and white flowers were donated by Sussex County Florist. And the DJ, Global Productions rocked the house all night long!

We were truly honored to be a part of Ursula and Chris's Wedding!

Dream Wedding Contest Runners Up ~ Tie The Knot

In August 2011, Jodi Dolan-Morrison and Devin McCarthy sent in a letter to The Dream Wedding Team explaining why they deserved to win a Dream Wedding. You may remember their story. Jodi lost both of her parents at a young age to drug and alcohol addictions and was raised by her cousins with 4 siblings. She worked her way through college and graduated with honors and currently works in social services. Devin works 2 jobs trying to build a life with Jodi. The couple made it to the top three and after receiving over 2500 votes, they did not win the Dream Wedding Contest. As runners up, the couple did win 25% off their Photography, Videography, DJ, Flowers, and Attire from the Dream Wedding Team vendors.

On May 21, 2011 the high school sweethearts were married. Sarah Ziccardi, co-owner of Anthony Ziccardi Studios and member of The Dream Wedding Team stated, “Jodi and Devin are such an amazing couple! Their wedding was the first wedding since my own that I cried during. Watching Jodi dance with her Uncle, in memory of her father was such a sad moment for me. I kept thinking about what a wonderful person Jodi has become despite all of the hurtles she has overcome.” The couple may have not won the Dream Wedding Contest but as Sarah says, “ The certainly had a dream wedding!”.

Wow. I wish there was a better word but "wow" seems to capture it.

The pictures that you captured truly were amazing. It was a great chronicle of our entire day - and we felt like we were reliving each moment as we moved on to the next photo. We believe that you captured every detail of the day and still were able to show the grand picture of the best day of our lives (so far!). Even with a hurricane of a day that we had you made us feel that the sun was shining and there was nothing to worry about except having a great time. My love for photography began with my passion for art as a child. Taking photographs, painting and drawing has always made me happy. I was artistic through high school and graduated in the National Art Honors Society. While I was in high school and college, where I received a BA in Psychology, I had worked at a childcare center. After 11 years of taking care of little ones, I got married to my wonderful husband Mike and had my own baby girl and decided that it was time for a change. I really wanted to find a career that I was passionate about and that would allow me to express myself creatively. I have always been interested in wedding planning so I started my journey with these two thoughts in mind.

I met Torri when she was photographing a wedding that I was in and we instantly became buddies. I asked her how she became a photographer and next thing I knew, a light bulb went on in my head and I told her that I woud be calling her soon! I bought a camera, took classes and let my creativity take off with photography. I practice on my daughter so much that one of her first words were, “CHEESE!!”

Torri introduced me to Anthony Ziccardi Studios where I met the crew. Everyone at the studio was so welcoming and friendly. I immediately saw how they connect with their brides and I knew this was where I wanted to be. After my first wedding I was high on life! I am so happy that I have found something that I absolutely love. I feel honored to work for such great people.

My favorite thing about being a wedding photographer is not just capturing image that reminds you of your wedding, but to capture images that remind you of the exact feeling you had at that exact beautiful moment.

It was a cold winter's day on January 16th. Just 1 day after an intense snow storm, the ground was still covered in snow. But nothing would put a stop to this fun-loving couple getting married. The ceremony and reception took place at "The Tides" in North Haledon, NJ. A classy reception hall with great food! And the guests spent the night on the dance floor enjoying the music and superb uplighting. For those of your thinking of adding uplighting to your wedding. Choosing your wedding DJ can be a fun part of your wedding preparations. If your deciding between DJ or band the first thing you should consider is budget. Most wedding bands cost between $6,000-$10,000! So if that’s in your budget then good for you! Bands can add a really special touch to your wedding. But for the majority of you, a DJ is your best bet!

Below you will read some tips on finding the perfect DJ for you!

Ask your friends, and other vendors for recommendations.

Your DJ is the person who will set the mood for your whole night so it’s important to choose the right one. Ask around for recommendations! Check with your professional vendors because they are the ones who work with these DJ’s most often. Vendors know exactly who will bring the party and keep your guests dancing the night away!

Hiring a friend or hobbyist to DJ your event.

No matter what your budget is, it’s never a good idea to use a friend or hobbyist to DJ your event. As I mentioned before your DJ will play an instrumental part in your guests overall experience and you want them to have a great time! You want to be able to trust your wedding with professionals who know exactly how to get people out of their seats and enjoy the dance floor. CD vs. Digital

When meeting with DJ’s find out if they use CD’s or Digital Music. While some DJ’s still mix CD’s, you definitely get more for your money with a DJ who uses Digital Music. Your DJ has an unlimited resource of music at his finger tips throughout the night. So you’ll never hear, “I’m sorry I don’t have that song“.

Equipment

Make sure your DJ comes to your event with back up equipment. This is again why it is so important to hire a professional. I’ve seen it happen before, and you don’t want to be the wedding whose music skipped, speakers didn’t work right, or for goodness sake didn’t play at all! Electronics sometimes break at no fault of your DJ’s and you want to make sure your DJ is fully prepared to swap out equipment if something goes wrong! Most likely the equipment at your wedding will work fine but do you really want to risk being the wedding where it doesn’t?

Wedding Day Makeup

As a licensed cosmetologist, I see many mistakes made by our brides when it comes to their wedding day makeup. So here are some tips you can use to help make your makeup application just perfect!

#1 Thing To Remember
As a rule you just want to glamorize your everyday look not change it completely!

Waterproof It
Choose a mascara that's waterproof; it lasts longer and hold up better during any wedding day tears.

Lashes
Don’t be afraid to enhance your eyes with some glamorous lashes, they can make a huge difference in the way you look! If your going to doll-it-up then always do a test run and make sure your comfortable with the feeling and look they give you. You don’t want to try them for the first time on your big day, because removal is not easy and can leave very clumpy lashes.

On the Line
Charcoal, navy, or mahogany are your best options for eyeliner for a day wedding. Black or brown works best for night weddings and dramatic effects.

Lighten Up
Use a white shadow as a highlighter on your brow bone if you have light skin; a warmer light peach or vanilla shade will suit deeper complexions. But please remember the highlighter is supposed to be just that and shouldn’t be used as white eye shadow, less is usually better.

Give Them Shape
Do contour your eyes, but avoid using color that's too dense (it can detract from your eyes themselves). Generally 2-3 shades darker then your eye shadow works best!

Don't Forget Your Eyebrows
Define your brows with a pencil or shadow that matches your hair color. And for those of you who have thick eyebrows, a spritze of hair spray will do the trick to make sure your eyebrows hold that perfect shape all day long.

Do Blush
Blush is an absolute must! A pop of color on your cheeks is like an instant facelift. For fairer skin, a pink tone will work; those with deeper skin tones can choose a rosier hue. For best application, apply while smiling to the apple of your cheeks brushing upwards towards your hair line.

Leave That Blemish Alone
If you have a blemish or breakout just before your wedding day, keep your hands away from your face, there’s nothing worse then a swollen, bleeding, red mark on your face for all those wedding day photos. If your really concerned about your blemish, see a dermatologist.

Lighting
For your makeup application, natural light is best. If possible, set up an application table near a window. And always go outside and check your face before you put all the makeup away. Outside lighting will really help you see where you need to add more, or blend better.

Even It Out
Use bronzing powder on your chest, into your hairline, and neck if you need to even out your skin tone with your face -- it will make your skin more luminous and ensure that your face doesn't look too different from your body. Warning: Be very careful with bronzer! It will stain your dress and is almost impossible to remove.

Lipstick and Gloss
Choose a lip color that's a bit bright. Pale nude or brown lip hues can make you appear washed out in photos, particularly since you'll be wearing white. If you normally wear a neutral hue, wear it as your base with a pink or rose color on top. If you normally wear dark lipstick, use that as your base and apply a lighter sheer pink on top to give you a lift. Stay away from super wet glossy lips, not the best for your photos. My advice: use a chapstick instead!

Touch Ups
Even if you mix various lip colors when applying your makeup, be sure to have one great lipstick to carry with you for touchups. But remember you’ll be kissing your soon to be husband and guests all day, so too much lipstick can be real bad too. Take it from me, you don’t want your husband to look like he’s wearing red lipstick also.
