In August 2011, Jodi Dolan-Morrison and Devin McCarthy sent in a letter to The Dream Wedding Team explaining why they deserved to win a Dream Wedding. You may remember their story. Jodi lost both of her parents at a young age to drug and alcohol addictions and was raised by her cousins with 4 siblings. She worked her way through college and graduated with honors and currently works in social services. Devin works 2 jobs trying to build a life with Jodi. The couple made it to the top three and after receiving over 2500 votes, they did not win the Dream Wedding Contest. As runners up, the couple did win 25% off their Photography, Videography, DJ, Flowers, and Attire from the Dream Wedding Team vendors.
On May 21, 2011 the high school sweethearts were married. Sarah Ziccardi, co-owner of Anthony Ziccardi Studios and member of The Dream Wedding Team stated, “Jodi and Devin are such an amazing couple! Their wedding was the first wedding since my own that I cried during. Watching Jodi dance with her Uncle, in memory of her father was such a sad moment for me. I kept thinking about what a wonderful person Jodi has become despite all of the hurtles she has overcome.” The couple may have not won the Dream Wedding Contest but as Sarah says, “ The certainly had a dream wedding!”.
